NGC MS-69 Mint Error Obverse Struck Thru 2024 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin
American Silver Eagles are one of the most coveted silver coins worldwide. They are the official silver bullion coin in the US and produced under the strictest quality standards by the US Mint. Mint errors rarely happen, but when they do, they are worth the register.
Struck-through errors are the most common type of mint error and happen when something, like debris or fabric, is caught between the dies during the minting process, imprinting an undesirable mark on the coin.
These 2024 American Silver Eagles are Obverse Struck-Through samples and are sealed in NGC slabs as MS-69 coins. You can purchase them online from SD Bullion.

The Design
The obverse features “The Walking Liberty” design created by Adolph A. Weinman. In the image, Lady Liberty is the feminine figure that represents the American nation.
She has the American flag draped on her shoulder, oak branches on her arm, and the sun shines while she walks with a stretched arm, welcoming those looking for shelter.
The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed on top, “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the lower right, and “2024” is on the bottom rim.
The Bald Eagle design was created by artist Emily Damstra and introduced in the American Eagle Program in 2021. It features the Bald Eagle perched on a branch in a more natural depiction when compared to the previous heraldic eagle design. The inscriptions regarding weight, metal content, and purity are: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”
An MS-69 Coin
The NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company and other third-party services work independently of sovereign mints, appraising coins using the Sheldon Scale.
The Sheldon Scale ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition and authenticity.
Mint State coin or “MS” refers to a coin minted as a business coin that has never circulated. The number 69 means the coin has its original luster preserved despite minor or non-detracting contact marks or flaws, which are almost invisible.
