Introducing the Celebrity Mint 500 Home Run Club Autographed Series, a premium collection that celebrates eight of the greatest sluggers in baseball history who have reached the iconic 500 home run milestone. This series is as rare as the achievements it commemorates, with only 170 total pieces available across both 1-ounce and 5-ounce silver baseball coins.
Earlier this year, the New Zealand Mint created some of the most unique silver coins ever made. These coins were minted to look like real baseballs, including the iconic MLB Logoman. These coins were minted in very limited runs (only 200 5 oz and only 2024 1 oz coins).
Our friends at Celebrity Mint then had a great idea. They locked down several of these unique baseball coins and sent them off to the grading service PCGS. Next, they took all the coins that graded Mint State 70 (perfect) and had the legendary players from the 500 Home Run Club autograph labels at the National Sports Collectors Convention earlier this year.
This sequence of events created the most unique collection in baseball history as this was the first time ever that all members from the 500 Home Run Club autographed a single series like this; making this truly one-of-a-kind for collectors.
Other than the fact of having each member of the 500 HR Club involved, the other major piece that separates this collection from the pack is the extreme rarity in numbers. This is especially true when you look at the 5 oz versions. And by the way, each 5 oz coin also includes an inscription that reads 500 HR along with the legend's autograph.
