2012-(S) PCGS MS-69 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin Struck at San Francisco
The American Silver Eagle, the official silver coin in the US, made its debut in the bullion market in 1986, marking a significant milestone in the American Eagles program.
Typically, US Silver Eagles are produced at the West Point branch of the US Mint. However, during periods of high demand for these bullion coins, the Mint utilizes its other branches to meet production needs.
These specific American Silver Eagles were struck at the San Francisco Mint. Although they do not feature the "S" mint mark, they have been graded by PCGS as MS-69. The slab label indicates their origin, stating they were “Struck at San Francisco”.

The Design
On the obverse, Adolph A. Weinman’s “The Walking Liberty” design showcases Lady Liberty folded in the American flag as she walks toward the sun's rays.
Lady Liberty stretches one arm to welcome those seeking shelter in the New World and has oak and laurel branches on the other. It also features the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of mintage.
On the reverse, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, John Mercanti, presents the Heraldic Eagle, which has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak. The stars above the Heraldic Eagle represent the Thirteen Original Colonies.
The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR” describe the face value, weight, metal content, and purity data.
