A Brief History

We first introduced the Truth Coin Series to the bullion market in 2018 as a more affordable option for silver coins.

The initial strikes exhibited awe-inspiring designs, high purity levels, and limited mintage, quickly attracting investors and coin enthusiasts.

The success of sales in 2018 led to the expansion of the series to include a 5 oz variety in high relief, along with MintCertified™ sealed tubes and monster boxes for the 1 oz versions.

The first gold coin of the series premiered in 2020, enriched with a proof finish, and then in 2021 platinum versions were released with a reverse proof finish.

The Sunshine Mint

The Sunshine Mint is a prestigious private mint based here in the United States, renowned for its enduring partnership with several government entities, mints, banks, and bullion houses worldwide.

It is involved in the supply chain of popular coins such as Silver Eagles, Maple Leafs, Britannia, and Krugerrands.

Along with SD Bullion, the Sunshine Mint produces the Truth Coin Series known for its high quality and affordable premiums.

The Designs

The Truth is the permanent motif of the series, and it changes at every yearly strike to reveal a unique micro-engraved part of scripture hidden in each coin’s design. When you bring together each of the designs from the collection you can reveal the entirety of the Scripture passage.

In the first few releases, when only the two debuting designs were available, the hidden truth was split in two: half of the passage was on the Roaring Lion’s crown, and the other half was on the branches of the Tree of Life.

In 2023, the Ram of Calvary and the Sword of Truth designs became part of the annual strikes, dividing the hidden message in four parts.

In addition to the stunning patterns, the designs hide advanced security features protecting the coins against counterfeiting.

The gold coins’ surfaces receive a proof finish, so the background showcases a mirror-like luster, which contrasts with the frosted design elements, highlighting the inscriptions and each intricate detail.

The Roaring Lion

1 oz Gold Roaring Lion

Gold Roaring Lion Coins were released for the first time in 2020. The brave lion is depicted staring intently at the viewer and roaring, meant to represent the Lion of Judah, another name for Jesus Christ referencing his majesty and strength.

The crowned lion showcases intricate details: sharp teeth, staring eyes, an unruly mane, and individual whiskers.

The Aleph Tav Symbol תא on the lion’s crown reveals the lion’s identity as the Lion of Judah. The yearly truth scripture is usually inscribed on the band of the crown.

Behind the lion is a reflective regal floral-like pattern that accentuates the beauty of this design. On the bottom rim, beneath the crowned lion, the inscriptions refer to the weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE” and purity of “.9999 FINE GOLD”.

The Tree of Life

1 oz Gold Tree of Life

As the name suggests, the reverse design displays a shady tree with deep apparent roots, numerous branches, and leaves. The Tree of Life is a Biblical symbol of the everlasting love of God and his life-giving nature.

The “Truth” is usually hidden in the lower left branch and may demand magnifying glasses to be read, as it is micro-engraved.

There is an inscription below the tree that reads ה ו ה י - Hebrew for Yahweh - The Memorial Name of the One Who Gives True Life. The coin’s weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE” and purity of “.9999 FINE GOLD” lie along the right side of the coin.

The Ram of Calvary

1 oz Gold Ram of Calvary

The Ram of Calvary’s reverse design represents the Lamb of God, the Son of God who was sacrificed on the cross. Jesus’ crucifixion took place in the town of Calvary, thus Him being given the name “Ram of Calvary”.

The reverse design features a beautifully detailed profile of a Ram facing the viewer. The Ram is strong and courageous, looking calmly straight forward. The Ram has staring but peaceful eyes and massive spiraling horns, in which the hidden “Truth” has been micro-engraved.

The Hebrew lettering of “ישוע” above the animal’s depiction means Yeshua (Jesus).

The Sword of Truth

1 oz Gold Sword of Truth

The Sword of Truth’s reverse design consists basically of two elements: a battle Shield and a Sword prominently positioned in the center of the coin.

The Sword depiction is simple. Decoration details are present in the hilt, where the hidden truth lies micro-engraved. At the tip of the Sword there is a snake, barely noticeable to the naked eye, adding a compelling Biblical element to the image.

The battle shield has a sturdy appearance. The Hebrew lettering “רוח קודש” meaning “Holy Spirit” lies on the bottom of the shield. A stylized belt framing surrounds the image with the weight and purity displayed. On the border, a striking weave of thorny vines symbolizes the crown of thorns.

Why Buy Gold Coins?

Gold is the most popular precious metal around the globe. It has long been used for monetary purposes, which has granted it a higher status among other metals.

Because of its intrinsic nature as a precious metal, gold tends to be less prone to devaluation. It is able to keep its value over time, serving as a hedge against market turmoil and wealth losses.

That makes gold items very sought-after among investors who are diversifying their investment portfolios by adding physical gold to their vaults.

Collectors also seek gold coins for their collections. High purity levels, scarcity, and numismatic value are some of the factors that usually grab coin enthusiasts’ attention, as well as premium appreciation rates with each yearly release.

Truth Series Gold Coins may be a sensible purchase for both kinds of interest. And the successful partnership between the Sunshine Mint and SD Bullion offers you an excellent chance to invest in physical gold through the Truth Series at a low price over spot.

Why Low Mintage Makes Sense

When investors and collectors are considering the various bullion programs to add to their stack, generally the focus is on metal content, purity, and the potential for the premium invested (beyond spot price) upfront could appreciate in value as years go by and other releases are added to the series. This can be broadly defined as premium appreciation. While many bullion coins contain 1 Troy Oz of Silver or Gold and similar purity levels, premium appreciation opportunity varies significantly between each series.

Premium appreciation behaves comparably to any secondary market. The right mix of supply and demand, series continuity, and a standard of quality design and minting must be achieved to support the premiums rising in value in the secondary market.

The 1 oz Truth Series Silver coins began with mintages of only 50,000 coins each release and sell out quickly. Many bullion coins such as the Eagle, Maple, Britannia, and Kangaroo have mintages in the millions of ounces. The 1 oz Silver Truth Series coins began with mintages of only 50,000
