2020-(P) NGC MS-69 Early Releases Emergency Issue - 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin Struck at Philadelphia Mint
Since its debut in 1986, the US Silver Eagle has been one of the best silver coins sold worldwide. The US Mint maintains regular annual strikes and boosts the collection with Proof and Burnished versions.
The year 2020 stands out in American coinage history, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the unprecedented search for Silver Eagles, the US Mint prompted quicker production and release of an emergency supply of these silver coins to meet the market demand.
While these coins lack mint marks identifying their origins, NGC distinguishes them by including a “P” in parentheses on their labels, as issued in the Philadelphia Mint.
SD Bullion offers 2020-(P) 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in an Emergency Issue. They were purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release and graded by NGC as MS-69 samples.

The Design

Lady Liberty stretches one arm to welcome those seeking shelter in the New World and has oak and laurel branches on the other.
It also contains the word “LIBERTY” on top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” aside, and the year of mintage at the bottom.
The reverse was designedby the US Mint Chief Engraver, John Mercanti. The Heraldic Eagle has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak. The Thirteen Original Colonies are represented by the stars above the Heraldic Eagle.
Additional engravings such as “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR” describe the face value, weight, metal content, and purity data.
