The Design

The obverse features Lady Liberty striding toward the sun's rays. She carries oak and laurel branches in one arm while extending her other in a welcoming gesture, with the American flag draped over her shoulder. 

It also displays the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.

The reverse displays the majestic eagle with the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. Thirteen stars above the eagle's head represent the original colonies. 

It is also engraved with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR," indicating the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity, along with the "P" mint mark.
