The Design
The reverse design stamps a frontal close-up of the Ram with sweet staring eyes and massive horns. The Ram is usually a symbol of the Lamb or Son of God. The hidden message is micro-engraved in its horn and reads: “worship in the spirit,” from John 4:24. The Hebrew lettering “ישוע” above the animal’s depiction means Yeshua (Jesus). And the inscriptions on the bottom rim correspond to the coin's weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE,” “.9999” purity levels, and metal content “FINE GOLD.”
The current obverse design showcases the Coat of Arms of Niue, a self-governed country associated with New Zealand, which provides the coin with legal tender status.
The coin’s face value of “250 DOLLARS” arches over the Seal while the year of issuance lies beneath it.
Because this is a proof coin, the piece's surface received special treatment to exhibit a mirror-like luster. So, the images engraved with a frosted appearance highlight the brilliant blank background.
