The Design

The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Niue, the nation that guarantees the coin’s legal tender status. In addition to the seal, the additional engravings correspond to face value and mintage.

The reverse depicts a sword before a battle shield encircled by a framed belt. The weight, purity, and metal content are described on the bottom as “ONE TROY OUNCE,” “9999 FINE GOLD.”

The hidden message has been micro-engraved onto the sword's hilt. And on the shield, the Hebrew lettering “רוח קודש” means “Holy Spirit.” 

A second circle corresponds to thorny vines on the border, resembling a crown of thorns. Through magnifying lenses, an interesting detail can be seen: the tip of the sword pierces a snake.
