The Design

The obverse displays the Coat of Arms of Niue and engravings corresponding to the coin’s face value and year of mintage.

The reverse features a sword before a battle shield encircled by a framed belt. The weight, purity, and metal content information are described as “ONE TROY OUNCE,” “9999 FINE GOLD.”

The hidden message has been micro-engraved onto the sword's hilt. And on the shield, the Hebrew lettering “רוח קודש” means “Holy Spirit.” 

A second circle corresponds to thorny vines on the border, resembling a crown of thorns. A magnifying lens reveals an interesting detail: the tip of the sword pierces a snake.
