Truth Series Platinum Coins

Platinum coins are the most recent addition to the Truth Series, adding to the silver and gold coins already in its catalog.

The first platinum coin was introduced in 2021, with a legal tender status guaranteed by the government of New Zealand and exceptional purity of 99.95% pure platinum bullion.

The curious fact about minting exactly 333 coins every year lies in the symbolism behind the number. 333 is often referred to as the Angel Number.

The Truth Series is a collaboration of SD Bullion and Sunshine Mint. With the success of the series since its launch, the partnership has expanded to include platinum coins, offering investors a new way to invest in physical bullion.

As an exclusive SD Bullion product, the Truth Series has lower premiums than other bullion coins and intricate designs that are inspired by Scripture.

A Brief History

The Truth Series debuted in 2018 by introducing the Roaring Lion and the Tree of Life silver coins to the bullion market with limited mintages.

Compared to other silver coins, the Truth Series offered lower premiums over the silver spot price, boosting its sales and making the collection an immediate success.

Becoming one of our best-selling silver coins encouraged us to widen the exclusive Truth Series catalog, adding new elements to the collection and the opportunity to purchase silver coins in bulk through the MintCertified™ tube and monster box options.

Because of the success of the silver coins, in 2020, we released the gold-proof versions of the Roaring Lion and Tree of Life. And the following year, in 2021, the first reverse-proof

platinum additions to the Truth Series debuted with the Roaring Lion and Tree of Life.

In 2022, two brand-new designs were included in the series: the Ram of Calvary and the Sword of Truth, but produced only in silver.

The 2023 edition brought another upgrade. All four designs were minted in silver, gold, and platinum options, expanding the collection options.

The Sunshine Mint

The Sunshine Mint is a private mint that produces silver and gold bullion products, including bars and coins, for investors and collectors.

Based in the USA, the Mint was founded in 1979 and has since established a reputation for producing high-quality precious metal products.

The mint is known for its security features, such as its MintMark SI technology, which allows investors to verify the authenticity of their products using a decoding lens. The mint is also known for playing a part in the supply chain of popular series like the Silver Eagles, Maple Leafs, Britannia, and Kruggerands.

Sunshine Mint's products are popular among investors and collectors due to their quality, security features, and attractive designs.

The Design

The series’ moniker, “Truth,” comes from the Bible passages hidden in the details of the coin. Each coin features a truth chosen from the Bible for promoting integrity, righteousness, and honoring the Lord.

The debuting designs were the Roaring Lion and the Tree of Life. And they share a hidden truth at each annual strike. The Roaring Lion displays part of the message, and the rest appears in the Tree of Life edition.

In 2023, as the series got four standard designs, the hidden scripture part is split into four, so each metal-based coin has a share of the chosen annual message. When you bring together each of the designs, the Sword, the Ram, the Tree, and the Lion, you can reveal the entirety of the Scripture passage.

Advanced security features are applied to preserve the coins against counterfeiting.

Unlike their silver and gold counterparts, the truth series platinum coins have a reverse-proof finish. Thus, the coin’s background has a mirror-like effect, while the other design elements display a frosted luster.

The Roaring Lion

1 oz Platinum Roaring Lion

Platinum Coins showcase the reverse design in which a crowned lion has a frontal face close-up, roaring, with exposed sharp teeth, whiskers, staring eyes, and a huge mane full of intricate details.

The Aleph Tav Symbo-l תא- on the lion’s crown reveals the lion’s identity as the Lion of Judah, a biblical metaphor for Jesus Christ. The yearly truth is usually inscribed on the band of the crown.

Behind the lion is a regal floral-like pattern that accentuates the beauty of this design. On the bottom rim, beneath the crowned lion, the inscriptions refer to the weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE” and purity of “.9995 FINE PLATINUM”.

The Tree of Life

1 oz Platinum Tree of Life

The Tree of Life's obverse design displays a shady tree with deep roots, numerous branches, and leaves. This is a symbol of both the tree in Garden of Eden and a metaphor for Jesus being the Tree of Life

The scripture corresponding to the “Truth” is micro-engraved in the lower left branch.

Under the tree lies the inscription ה ו ה י - which is Hebrew for Yahweh.

The coin’s weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE” and purity of “.9995 FINE PLATINUM” lie along the right side of the coin.

The Ram of Calvary

1 oz Platinum Ram of Calvary

The Ram of Calvary or the Lamb of God are monikers used to express the same identity: the Son of God given to be sacrificed in Calvary, meaning the location of his crucifixion.

The Ram has staring but peaceful eyes and massive spiraling horns, in which the hidden “Truth” has been micro-engraved. The design details are expressive and perfectly visible because of the Ram’s close-up depiction.

The Hebrew lettering of “ישוע” above the animal’s depiction means Yeshua (Jesus), and the coin’s information regarding weight, metal content, and purity level are beneath it.

The Sword of Truth

1 oz Platinum Sword of Truth

This obverse design showcases a simple Sword positioned in front of a Shield.

The Sword is displayed with its hilt up and tip down. It does not exhibit decorative features, except for some details in its hilt, where the hidden truth is micro-engraved.

At the tip of the Sword, there is a snake, barely noticeable to the naked eye, adding a compelling Biblical element to the image.

The battle shield has a rustic and sturdy appearance. The Hebrew lettering “רוח קודש” meaning “Holy Spirit” lies on the bottom, near the Sword’s tip.

A stylized belt framing surrounds the image with the weight and purity displayed. On the border, a striking weave of thorny vines symbolizes a crown of thorns.

Why Buy Platinum Coins?

Platinum is a precious metal, and like silver and gold, it has many uses ranging from jewelry production to automotive manufacturing.

As a commodity, platinum bullion coins may work as a hedge against market turmoils, as they tend to maintain their value even when fiat currencies suffer devaluation.

As a coin, they offer certain advantages regarding portability, like easy transportation and home storage.

Platinum coins offer metal diversification for investors who already have traditional bullion pieces composing their investment portfolio.

And, for those who look for unusual pieces to add to their coin collection, platinum coins may provide uniqueness as a scarce precious metal.

Why Low Mintage Makes Sense

When investors and collectors are considering the various bullion programs to add to their stack, generally the focus is on metal content, purity, and the potential for the premium invested (beyond spot price) upfront could appreciate in value as years go by and other releases are added to the series. This can be broadly defined as premium appreciation. While many bullion coins contain 1 Troy Oz of Silver or Gold and similar purity levels, premium appreciation opportunity varies significantly between each series.

Premium appreciation behaves comparably to any secondary market. The right mix of supply and demand, series continuity, and a standard of quality design and minting must be achieved to support the premiums rising in value in the secondary market.

The 1 oz Truth Series Silver coins began with mintages of only 50,000 coins each release and sell out quickly. Many bullion coins such as the Eagle, Maple, Britannia, and Kangaroo have mintages in the millions of ounces. The 1 oz Silver Truth Series coins began with mintages of only 50,000
