The Design

As the coin’s name suggests, the reverse design consists of a frontal close-up of a Ram with sweet-staring eyes and massive horns. 

The Ram is usually a symbol of the Lamb or Son of God. And it is identified like that by the Hebrew lettering “ישוע” above the animal’s depiction, which means Yeshua (Jesus). 

The inscriptions on the bottom rim describe the coin's weight of “ONE TROY OUNCE,” “.9999” purity levels, and metal content “FINE GOLD.” The hidden message is micro-engraved in its horn.

The Coat of Arms of Niue is the obverse design. Niue is a self-governed country associated with New Zealand, which provides these coins with legal tender status.

Its face value of “250 DOLLARS” arches over the Seal while the year of issuance lies beneath it.

Because this is a proof coin, its surface received special treatment to exhibit a mirror-like luster. So, the images engraved with a frosted appearance highlight against the brilliant blank background.
