The Design

The Roaring Lion design is on the reverse side and showcases a crowned Roaring Lion, identified as the Lion of Judah by the Aleph Tav Symbol את on the crown, overlapping a regal-floral background pattern.

The hidden message, characteristic of the series, is usually inscribed on the crown band.

The coin’s specifications regarding weight and purity are beneath the Lion and read: “ONE TROY OUNCE” and “.9999 FINE GOLD”. 

The obverse stamps the Coat of Arms of Niue in a central position. Niue is the nation that provides the coins with legal tender, and it is a self-governed country associated with New Zealand.

The inscriptions accompanying the seal refer to the coin's face value of “250 DOLLARS” and the year of mintage.
