The Design

The description of face value, weight, metal content, and purity reads “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

On the obverse, Lady Liberty, who is enveloped in the American flag, holds oak and laurel branches in her arm. The words “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance are also engraved.

The Sheldon Grading Scale ranges from 1 to 70 and is used as a parameter for third-party services, like NGC, which stands for Numismatic Guaranty Company, to appraise and grade coins.

According to the scale, PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
