1921-D PCGS MS-64 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin
The 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar holds a unique place in American coinage history as part of the final year of production for the original Morgan Dollar series. After originally circulating from 1878 to 1904, the Morgan Dollar returned briefly in 1921 to once again serve as the nation’s official silver dollar.
Minted at multiple U.S. Mint facilities during its historic run, coins bearing the “D” mint mark were struck at the Denver Mint, which first began producing coins in 1906. The 1921-D issue represents one of the earliest Morgan Dollars produced at this facility.
SD Bullion proudly offers 1921-D Morgan Silver Dollar Coins graded MS-64 by PCGS, encapsulated in secure, tamper-evident holders to preserve their condition and authenticity.

The Design
The obverse portrays Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton bolls, symbolizing unity between agriculture and industry. A tiara inscribed with “LIBERTY” crowns her head, while the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” arcs above. Thirteen five-pointed stars representing the original thirteen colonies surround the portrait, along with the year of issue, 1921.
The reverse features a bald eagle with wings outstretched, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons to represent America’s readiness for both war and peace. A laurel wreath encircles the eagle, while the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR” frame the design. The motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” appears above the eagle, and the “D” mint mark is located beneath the wreath, identifying the Denver Mint.
A PCGS MS-64 Coin
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is one of the most respected independent third-party grading authorities in the numismatic industry. Coins are evaluated using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks condition from 1 to 70.
A grade of MS-64 (Mint State) indicates a coin that has never been circulated and retains strong original luster. Coins at this level may exhibit noticeable but light contact marks or scuffs from the minting process, while still maintaining attractive overall eye appeal and sharp design details.
