Surrounding the image are the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM," thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies, and the year of issuance at the base.
On the reverse side, a Bald Eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, clutching arrows, and olive branches amidst laurels. Positioned above the Eagle's head is the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST," while the border reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR."
An NGC MS-63 Coin
NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins apart from sovereign mints, using the Sheldon Grading Scale to rank coins from 1 to 70.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in the format of a widespread circulation coin. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines, detracting scuff marks or defects throughout the design. But still attractive overall appearance.
