The Design

The obverse features Lady Liberty walking with a stretched arm, the American flag draped on her shoulder, and oak branches on her other arm, hence the moniker.

Emily Damstra’s 2021 reverse design shows a Bald Eagle perching on a branch. The coin’s information regarding weight, metal content, and purity—“UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER”—encircle the image.

An NGC MS-70 Coin

Third-party services, like the NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company—work independently of sovereign mints and use the Sheldon Grading Scale to assign coins a particular grade. The scale ranges from 1 to 70.

MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins shaped as popular business coins. 70, the highest grade on the scale, is attributed to a coin that does not show visible flaws.
