2012-(W) PCGS MS-69 Struck at West Point Mint 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin
The US Mint first released Silver Eagles and their gold counterparts in 1986 to introduce the American Eagle program to the numismatic world.
The US Silver Eagles contain 1 Troy ounce of 99.9% fine silver, hold a one-dollar face value, and feature captivating patriotic designs that reflect the nation's core values.
Usually, the Philadelphia branch produces the bullion version without mint marks, but during periods of high demand, other branches are enlisted to increase production.
Therefore, PCGS identified these coins as MS-69 grade and specifically minted at the West Point Mint, even though they do not carry the branch's characteristic “W” mint mark.

The Design
The obverse was created by Adolph A. Weinman to stamp the 1917 Half-Dollar Coin and was rescued to be on the Silver Eagles. It displays "The Walking Liberty," in which Lady Liberty, folded in the American flag, walks toward the sun's rays.
Lady Liberty’s extended arm is a welcome sign to newcomers to the New World as she carries oak and laurel branches in the other. It also features the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.
The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, the Chief Engraver of the US Mint, features an eagle carrying the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. The stars above the eagle represent the Thirteen Original Colonies.
The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" denote the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity.
