2012-(W) PCGS MS-70 Struck at West Point Mint 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin
In 1986, the US Mint launched the American Silver Eagle Coin and its gold counterpart into the bullion market.
The US Silver Eagles, the nation's official silver bullion coins, weigh 1 Troy ounce of 99.9% fine silver. They are legal tender and feature captivating patriotic designs that reflect the nation's core values.
Usually, the Philadelphia branch produces the bullion version without mint marks, but during periods of high demand, other branches are enlisted to increase production.
Therefore, PCGS identified these coins as MS-70 grade and specifically minted at the West Point Mint, even though they do not carry the branch's characteristic “W” mint mark.

The Design
The obverse, created by Adolph A. Weinman, comes from the 1917 Half-Dollar Coin. It displays "The Walking Liberty," in which Lady Liberty, enveloped in the American flag, strides toward the sun's rays.
Lady Liberty extends one arm to welcome newcomers to the New World and carries oak and laurel branches in the other. The image also features the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.
On the reverse, John Mercanti, Chief Engraver of the US Mint, designed the Heraldic Eagle. The eagle carries the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. The stars above the eagle represent the Thirteen Original Colonies.
The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" denote the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity.
