The Design

The obverse displays Lady Liberty walking toward the sun's rays. She is enveloped in the American flag and has oak and laurel branches in one arm while extending her other in a welcoming gesture.

The additional engravings correspond to the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.

The reverse features the majestic eagle carrying the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. Thirteen stars above the eagle's head represent the original colonies. 

The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" indicate the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity, along with the "P" mint mark.
