The Design

The reverse features Emily Damstra’s Bald Eagle perching on a branch, encircled by the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER,” referring to weight, metal content, and purity.

The obverse portrays the Walking Liberty, that is, Lady Liberty walking with one arm extended, enveloped in the American flag, and with oak branches on the other arm.

The engravings included read “LIBERTY,” “the motto IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance.
