2025 PCGS MS-70 First Day of Issue 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin - John Dannreuther Label
American Silver Eagles are at the top of the best-selling silver coins worldwide. The US Mint first issued Silver Eagles and Gold Eagles in 1986 as the debuting coins of the American Eagle Coin Program. Each Eagle Coin holds legal tender status and weighs 1 Troy oz of fine precious metal.
These coins, in particular, are US Silver Eagles from the 2025 edition. They were purchased from the US Mint on the first day of their public release and sealed by PCGS with the John Dannreuther Label.
John Dannreuther is a co-founder of PCGS and is presented in the exclusive Founders Mark of Distinction holder. A leading coin expert, Dannreuther has authored numerous works on U.S. coins, focusing on rarities and die varieties. A PCGS MS-70 First Day of Issue coin
PCGS (Professional Coins Grading Service) appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
PCGS considers a “First Day of Issue” coin a sample purchased from its original mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
