The Design

Weight, metal content, and purity read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”

PCGS (Professional Coins Grading Service) appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.

PCGS considers “First Strike,” a coin submitted to its appraisal that was purchased from its original mint within 30 days of its official release.

Mint State coin or “MS” refers to a coin minted as a business coin that has never circulated. The number 69 means the coin has its original luster preserved despite minor or non-detracting contact marks or flaws, which are almost invisible.
