The Design

The obverse showcases Lady Liberty with the American flag draped on her shoulder as she walks, stretching one arm and carrying oak and laurel branches.

The year of issuance is engraved at the bottom, the word “LIBERTY” arches over the image, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is aside, and the five-pointed star privy mark is beneath it.

The reverse displays the Bald Eagle perched on a branch with its open wings. 

Inscriptions regarding face value, weight, metal content, and purity data read “1 OZ FINE SILVER” and “ONE DOLLAR.” Additional engravings refer to “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
