2024-(P) PCGS MS-69 First Strike Star Privy 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin

**The listed presale date is our best estimate of when we will have received certified coins from the grading service and begin shipping to customers. Due to possible delays with the US Mint's release of this special Privy Mark issue as well as a busy holiday shipping schedule, this date may be subject to change.**

The US Mint has debuted the first Silver Eagle privy coin ever produced with this Star Privy release. Privy coins are best described as coins with a small, unique indentifying mark on an otherwise bulk produced bullion strike.  Privy coins have been popular since the early 2010s, with other sovereign mints releasing a variety of privy coins each with their own unique collectible twist. This coin is the first ever US Mint Silver Eagle privy coin, featuring a Star Privy on the Obverse.

The American Silver Eagle is the most popular silver bullion coin in the world with mintages exceeding 20 million coins annually; this special release adds collectible value with the first ever privy mark on a Silver Eagle while also being struck at the iconic Philadelphia Mint. This coin presents a fascinating opportunity to own one of the most rare Silver Eagle coins in the world.

Today, at SD Bullion, you can acquire the 2024-(P) Star Privy 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins, purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release. They are sealed and certified by PCGS as MS-69 coins.

  • Issued at the Philadelphia Mint;
  • Imprinted with a Star Privy Mark;
  • Purchased within 30 days of its official release;

  • Adolph A. Weinman’s Lady Liberty is on the obverse;
  • Emily Damstra’s Eagle stamps the reverse.

The Design

The obverse replicates Adolph A. Weinman’s “The Walking Liberty” design used on 1917 Half-Dollar coins. It features Lady Liberty walking towards the sun folded in the American flag, with one arm stretched to welcome those seeking shelter in the New World, and has oak and laurel branches on the other.

It also informs the year of issuance, the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” aside, and the five-pointed star privy mark on the right.

The reverse, designed by Emily Damstra, displays Bald Eagle perched on a branch with its open wings.

Additional inscriptions reading “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR” describe the face value, weight, metal content, and purity data.

A PCGS MS-69 “First Strikes” Coin

PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.

PCGS calls “First Strikes” the coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of the official release and submitted to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
