Another release from the Royal Canadian Mint under the Gold Maple Leaf coin program, the 2018 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins, are now available to purchase at SD Bullion.
The first Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin was launched in 1979 with the aim of unseating the Gold Krugerrand, which was the only bullion gold coin in the world at the time. The Gold Maple Leaf’s rise to fame and popularity was rapid, and quickly became the yardstick by which every other gold bullion product is still measured.
The Royal Canadian Mint, the sovereign Mint of the country, was established in 1908 to eliminate the dependency on the Royal Mint in London. As of now, two facilities of the mint exist – one in Ottawa and the other in Winnipeg.
Each of these BU coins contains 1/10 oz of 0.9999 (24-karat) pure gold. Moreover, they also carry a face value of $5 (CAD), fully backed by the Canadian Government.
An elegant portrait of Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverses of these coins. Created by Susanna Blunt in 2003, the image depicts Her Majesty's right profile beautifully. This portrayal is the fourth depiction of the Queen on a Canadian coin.
Accumulate pure gold for your precious metals investment portfolios and various precious metals IRAs, or simply complete your Gold Maple Leaf sets with these 2018 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins. Their relatively lighter weight and smaller size makes them more affordable – perfect for those who are either limited by budget or are more comfortable buying smaller amounts of pure gold at a time.
