1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin - Random Year

1 oz Canadian Maple Leaf Coins are one of the oldest gold coins in the bullion market. Since its release in 1979, the Royal Canadian Mint has maintained regular annual strikes of these gold coins, updating security features over the years to guarantee their authenticity.

A landmark of the Gold Maple Leaf program was the improvement of gold purity levels. The coins struck until 1982 used to contain 99.9% fine gold. After that year, the following editions reached 99.99% of purity.

1 oz Canadian Maple Leaf is a valuable asset for any precious metals portfolio. And they may be an interesting acquisition for investors who want to find diversity through physical gold bullion.

SD Bullion has a vast inventory of Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins from several years of mintage. Opting for the Random Year Purchase, investors have the chance to purchase them for lower premiums, but note that the coin’s mintage will be randomly selected when we process your order according to our inventory availability.

The reverse depicts a Canadian national symbol: the sugar maple leaf. The English and French inscriptions on the outer rim refer to the coin’s origin, metal content, purity, and weight: “CANADA,” “999,” “FINE GOLD,” “1 OZ,” and “OR PUR.”

Random Year Purchase

Each of these coins contains one troy ounce of gold. Their purity levels vary according to the year of minting: coins issued from 1979 to 1982 have a purity of .999 fine gold, while all subsequent releases are 0.9999 fine gold.
