2011 PCGS MS-70 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin - Standard Label

The American Eagle coin program began in 1986, when the U.S. Mint first introduced the American Gold Eagle and American Silver Eagle bullion coins.

US Silver Eagles contain a full troy oz of .999 fine silver and stamp patriotic designs signed by Adolph A. Weinman and John Mercanti, the Chief Engraver of the US Mint.

Today, you can find 2011 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins, certified as MS-70 and sealed in PCGS slabs with their Standard Label.

Coin Highlights

  • Encapsulated and graded as a perfect MS-70 coin;

  • Sealed with PCGS Standard Label;

  • Contains 1 oz of .999 fine silver;

  • Produced by the US Mint;

  • 25th Anniversary of the American Eagle Program;

  • Holds a USD 1 denomination and legal tender status;

  • The obverse features the Walking Liberty;

  • The reverse depicts the Heraldic Eagle.

The Design

The obverse showcases Lady Liberty walking toward the sun's rays, enveloped in the American flag. She has oak and laurel branches in her arm as she extends the other arm to welcome newcomers to the New World.

It is engraved with the word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.

The reverse depicts the Heraldic eagle beneath the stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The Eagle has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak.

It is inscribed with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR," informing the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity.

A PCGS MS-70 Coin

PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) operates independently of sovereign mints, appraising and grading coins from 1 to 70, using the Sheldon Scale.

An MS-70 coin is a business strike coin that has never been in circulation and is in flawless condition. That is why it receives a grade of 70, the highest score on the scale.
