2002 PCGS MS-69 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin

The US Mint introduced American Silver Eagles in 1986 as the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Since then, they have become one of the most collected silver coins in the world.

Struck with 1 Troy oz of 99.9% fine silver and featuring patriotic designs rooted in American heritage, these Silver Eagles remain a top choice for investors and collectors alike.

Now available at SD Bullion, the 2002 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin has been certified by PCGS in near-perfect Mint State 69 condition.

Coin Highlights

  • Encapsulated and certified as MS-69 by PCGS;
  • Contains 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver;
  • Official bullion coin of the United States Mint;
  • Face value of USD 1 and legal tender status;
  • Obverse: Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design;
  • Reverse: John Mercanti’s iconic Heraldic Eagle.

The Design

The obverse of the coin features Adolph A. Weinman’s legendary “Walking Liberty” design, originally introduced in 1916. Lady Liberty strides confidently toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag, holding oak and laurel branches—symbols of strength and peace.

The inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year 2002.

The reverse showcases John Mercanti’s classic Heraldic Eagle, a symbol of American strength and unity. The eagle carries a banner reading “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” clutches an olive branch and arrows, and is framed by 13 stars representing the original colonies.

Surrounding inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
