1992-S NGC PF-69 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin
US Proof Silver Eagles mirror their bullion version of the series: they feature the same weight, metal content, face value, and design.
They contain 1 Troy oz of 99.9% fine silver, hold a USD 1 face value, are legal tender, and display the famous designs signed by Adolph A. Weinman and John M. Mercanti.
However, Proof Silver Eagles exhibit a mirror-like luster, highlighting the finest design details. And those proof coins issued in the San Francisco Mint carry the “S” mint mark.
Today, SD Bullion has 1992-S 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof coins graded by NGC as PF-69 samples in stock.

The Design
The Walking Liberty design that stamps the obverse of Silver Eagles was taken from the 1907 Half-Dollar coin.
It displays Lady Liberty walking toward the sun's rays, hence the moniker. She holds oak and laurel branches in one arm while extending her other in a welcoming gesture, with the American flag draped over her shoulder.
The word "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage are included.
The reverse was designed by the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, John Mercanti.
In the image, the majestic eagle carries the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. Thirteen stars above the eagle's head represent the original colonies.
It also contains the text "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR," indicating the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity, along with the "S" mint mark.
An NGC PF-69 Coin
The Sheldon Grading Scale ranges from 1 to 70 and is used as a parameter for third-party services, like NGC, which stands for Numismatic Guaranty Company, to appraise and grade coins.
According to the scale, PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
