The Design

The obverse depicts Lady Liberty’s  effigy, wearing a radiant crown inscribed “LIBERTY.” It also contains the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the year of issuance.

The reverse portrays a peaceful bald eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talon. It is also inscribed with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”
