The Design
The obverse portrays Lady Liberty wearing a radiant crown inscribed “LIBERTY.” It also features the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the year of issuance.
The reverse depicts a peaceful bald eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talon. Further inscriptions read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”
