1921 Morgan Silver Dollars - BU
From 1878 to 1904, the US Mint massively produced Morgan Silver Dollars. With a diameter of 38mm, weighing .7734 oz of 90% silver, and reeded edges, Morgan Dollars featured two iconic symbols of American pride: the Bald Eagle and Lady Liberty.
With the war effort and as gold became the standard metal in the country, many Morgan Dollars, like other silver coins, ended up lost or melted.
1921 marks the reintroduction of Morgan Dollars to the bullion market. For short-term and some design updates, the US Mint struck Morgan Silver Dollars once more in a minimal number until Peace Silver Dollars replaced them.
After a century of history, Morgan Dollars are now an exciting collectible coin and an attractive investment option for those who may appreciate 90% Junk Silver.

The Design
Morgan Dollars received its creator’s name: Chief Engraver George T. Morgan.
Lady Liberty got a left-profile depiction on the coin’s obverse. The inscription surrounding the portrait, along with the year of issuance and a sequence of thirteen six-pointed stars, is the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”.
The reverse displays the American Bald Eagle, with open wings, arrows, and olive branches on its paws and some laurels beneath it. The second motto of the coin lay above the Eagle’s head: “In God we trust.”. The inscriptions encircling the image refer to the coin’s origin and face value. They read: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
