2021 PCGS MS-70 First Day of Issue Morgan and Peace Dollar Silver 6-Coin Set - John Dannreuther Labels
Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars are among the most sought-after silver coins worldwide, prized for their significant historical value.
Minted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these coins symbolize American westward expansion, industrial growth, and post-World War I international recognition.
In 2021, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the last Morgan Dollar and the first Peace Dollar, the US Mint released its inaugural two-coin set featuring both Silver Morgan and Peace Dollars. The success of this set boasted the creation of additional offerings, including the 6-Coin Set of Morgan and Peace Dollars.
This piece is hand-signed by John Dannreuther, a co-founder of PCGS, and is presented in the exclusive Founders Mark of Distinction holder. Dannreuther, a leading coin expert, has authored numerous works on U.S. coins, focusing on rarities and die varieties. His notable contributions include the award-winning "The Official Guide to Coin Grading and Counterfeit Detection" and a groundbreaking article in the ANA Journal.
Today, SD Bullion offers Morgan and Peace Dollar 6-Coin Sets, certified by PCGS as MS-70 samples and sealed with John Dannreuther Labels.

The Morgan Dollar Design
Morgan Dollars are named after Chief Engraver George T. Morgan, who designed them.
The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton balls and a tiara inscribed with “LIBERTY.”
It also includes the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” thirteen five-pointed stars representing the original thirteen colonies, and the coin’s year of issuance.
The reverse showcases a Bald Eagle with outstretched wings, holding arrows and olive branches in its talons, surrounded by a wreath of laurels.
It includes the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The Peace Dollar Design
The Peace Dollar, designed by Anthony de Francisci in 1921, features Lady Liberty’s bust wearing a radiant crown.
The obverse is completed with the engravings “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance.
On the reverse, an eagle rests on a rock, holding an olive branch to symbolize peace. This side includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”
A PCGS MS-70 First Day of Issue coin
PCGS (Professional Coins Grading Service) appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
PCGS considers “First Day of Issue” a coin submitted to its appraisal purchased from its original mint on the very first day of its official release.
