1885-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coin - XF
The Morgan Dollar, first issued as America’s circulating dollar coin from 1878 to 1904, takes its name from designer George T. Morgan.
After its initial production, the coin returned briefly in 1921 before being succeeded by the Peace Dollar. A century later, in 2021, the U.S. Mint honored its legacy with a commemorative release marking 100 years since the last mintage of the coin.
Morgan Dollars contain .7734 oz of silver. They were struck at several U.S. Mint branches, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, San Francisco, and the legendary Carson City Mint, which ceased operations in 1893.
