1882-1884-CC NGC MS-64 Morgan Silver Dollar - Carson City Bag Fragment - Random Year
The Carson City Mint, a branch of the U.S. Mint, was renowned for producing American silver coins, particularly the Morgan Silver Dollars, before closing in 1893.
Notably, Morgan Dollars minted from 1882 to 1884 were held in the U.S. Treasury's reserves until the General Services Administration (GSA) approved their public sale in 1970.
These Morgan Dollars, in particular, were taken from Carson City's original bag fragment and submitted to NGC appraisal.
Today, SD Bullion offers Morgan Silver Dollars from Carson City Bag Fragment graded by NGC as MS-64 coins. However, according to our inventory availability at the time of shipping, mintage may vary between 1882 and 1884.

An NGC MS-64 coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) works independently from sovereign mints, appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
