Struck for the first time in 1921, the Peace Dollar was created to celebrate the end of World War I and quickly became a powerful emblem of harmony and renewal. 

Its production dates back from 1921 to 1928, with an additional mintage in 1934 and 1935. The design returned in 2021 with a special centennial issue, and the strong demand secured its place as a recurring release from the U.S. Mint.

These coins, in particular, were acquired from the US Mint on the first day of their official release and submitted to PCGS appraisal.

The Design

The reverse features a peaceful bald eagle perched on a rock, clutching an olive branch in its talons. The accompanying inscriptions read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”

PCGS (Professional Coins Grading Service) appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.

PCGS considers a “First Day of Issue” coin a sample purchased from its original mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
