The Design

The obverse features Lady Liberty, the nation's feminine symbol, walking toward the sun with an outstretched arm, the American flag draped over her shoulder, and oak branches in her arm. 

The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed at the top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the lower right, with the “W” West Point mint mark beneath it, and “2024” at the bottom rim. 

The reverse design, introduced in 2021, depicts a Bald Eagle perched on a branch. Surrounding the image are inscriptions detailing the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity, reading “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”

Burnished Coins

A Burnished American Eagle Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process.
