The Design

The obverse showcases Lady Liberty, enveloped in the American flag, walking toward the sun's rays. She has oak and laurel branches in one arm while extending her other in a welcoming gesture.

The additional engravings read "LIBERTY," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage.

The reverse portrays the majestic eagle carrying the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. Thirteen stars above the eagle's head represent the original colonies. 

The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" indicate the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity, along with the "P" mint mark.
