1996 1 oz Chinese Panda Gold Coin
The Chinese Mint first released the Gold Panda Series in 1982. Chinese Gold Panda coins are some of the favorite series among collectors because their design changes every year, featuring a new charming depiction of the Giant Panda in its natural habitat.
As the moniker suggests, the Panda stars the main design with different portraits. Pandas are native mammals in China and have long been considered endangered.
The 1996 strike, in particular, had a short mintage of 22,100 coins, which contributed to its higher numismatic value.
