NGC MS-69 Brown Label 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin Complete Set (1986-2025)
The American Silver Eagle series, first introduced in 1986 as part of the US Mint’s American Eagle Program, has become one of the world's most sought-after silver bullion coins.
With annual strikes showcasing the nation’s commitment to excellence, the series underwent a historic design update in 2021 to celebrate its 35th anniversary. This transition introduced a new reverse design, replacing the classic heraldic eagle designed by Chief Engraver John M. Mercanti with artist Emily Damstra’s dynamic depiction of a bald eagle in flight.
This Complete Set comprises a 1 Troy oz sample from each of the 41 editions of the US Silver Eagle - from 1986 to 2025. They were all submitted to NGC for grading.
SD Bullion offers the 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin Complete Set (1986-2025), certified as MS-69 coins, sealed in NGC slabs with its Brown Label.

The Obverse Design
The obverse design reproduces the 1917 Half-Dollar Coin created by Adolph A. Weinman. It showcases Lady Liberty wrapped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun's rays, hence the moniker “The Walking Liberty.”
In the image, Lady Liberty carries oak and laurel branches in one hand and stretches the other in a warm welcome. It also contains the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of mintage.
The Debuting Reverse Design
Chief Engraver John Mercanti’s creation features a Heraldic Eagle with the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak. This will be present starting on years 1986 and ending with the 2021 Type 1.
The Thirteen pointed stars in a triangular format over the Heraldic Eagle represent the original colonies. The country’s name arches over the image, while the coin’s face value, weight, metal content, and purity data are on the bottom. They read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The New Reverse Design
The reverse was designed by artistry Emily Damstra and included in the program in 2021 for its 35th anniversary celebration. This is present on the 2021 through 2025 Silver Eagles.
The design displays a Bald Eagle perched on a branch with its open wings. Inscriptions regarding face value, weight, metal content, and purity data read “1 OZ FINE SILVER” and “ONE DOLLAR.” Additional engravings refer to “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
An NGC Brown Label MS-69 Coin
NGC stands for Numismatic Guaranty Company, and it is a third-party service that works independently of sovereign mints to appraise coins and grade them based on the Sheldon Grading Scale.
Brown Label is NGC's standard seal. MS stands for Mint State, referring to a coin made in the same format as a business circulation sample. Grade 69 is attributed to a coin whose original luster is preserved despite almost invisible minor contact marks or flaws.
