2022 ¼ oz Gold Libertads
Gold coins offer the possibility of investing in bullion and starting a beautiful collection simultaneously. Fractional sizes, like the ¼ oz Gold Libertad, open the series for a greater variety of coins, and their lower premiums make them more accessible for investors and collectors alike.
With this year's mintage level expected to be similar to last year's limit of just 500 coins, these are not expected to last long!

The Coin’s Design
The history of Mexican independence dates back to 1810, but its symbols found immortality through the Gold Libertad coin’s design.
The obverse depicts the current Mexican Coat of Arms in a central position surrounded by the words imprinted: “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” All around the main image, there are previous versions of the Mexican Coat of Arms.
The reverse features the Winged Liberty, the feminine personification of the free nation, which became a statue standing atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. On this side, the words engraved are: “1 ONZA ORO PURO”, “LEY .999”, and the year of issuance.
The Mexican Mint
The Mexican Mint is the oldest in the Americas, with more than five hundred years of experience. Founded while the nation was still a Spanish colony, it aimed to refine gold mined in the local ores and reduce the production costs of coins. Some significant coins were minted there, like the Spanish 8-Reales, and Mexican coins soon became a reference to other currencies: the US Dollar and the Japanese Yuan, for example.
