1885-O PCGS MS-63 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin - Old Green Holder
Morgan Silver Dollars encapsulate a piece of history that has lasted for more than a century.
The US Mint initially produced these coins from 1878 to 1904, then again in 1921 as the nation's official dollar coin, and once more in a commemorative strike marking the centenary of their last issuance as circulating currency.
Designed by US Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan, the coins reflect their era's economic optimism and industrial growth.
Over the years, Morgan Dollars were minted at various official branches, with those from the New Orleans Mint bearing the "O" mint mark.
SD Bullion sells 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, graded as MS-63 samples and sealed in the rare Old Green Holders, which PCGS used to encapsulate coins from 1989 to 1998.

A PCGS MS-63 Coin
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale as a parameter. It works apart from sovereign mints, certifying coins from 1 to 70, according to their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business circulation sample format. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines but still have an attractive overall appearance.
