Florida Goldback Notes corresponds to the 6th strike of the Aurum Mint’s Goldback Notes Series.
The first Goldback was released in 2019 in Utah. Since then, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, and recently Florida have also released Goldback notes, offering a fun and diverse way to invest in gold bullion.

The Design
It is standard for all Golback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure representing a cardinal virtue.
The Florida 5 Goldback portrays the virtue “Audax,” which means “Daring” in Latin. The embodied figure is an inspired version of the legendary Anne Bonny and Charlotte de Berry, who challenged societal norms with boldness during the Age of Sail.
The design reflects the daring spirit of a ship amidst stormy seas and fierce winds, symbolizing Florida’s resilience against hurricanes. Elements such as a compass, lantern, and piece of eight highlight the courage, strategy, and faith needed to navigate uncertain waters.
Because these Goldback Notes are very thin, the opposite side is a mirrored image of the design.
Goldback Notes
A Goldback or foil note is a voluntary regional currency accepted as payment in specific locations within the United States. Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Florida are states that accept goldbacks.
These notes hold no dollar legal tender. However, they are valued as a bullion item because of the 24k gold paint applied to a plastic film.
Despite being shaped like regular currency notes, they range in weight from 1/1000th oz to 1/20th oz, and their denominations, which can vary from 1/2 to 100, are proportional to the amount of gold they contain.
The year of mintage may vary based on currently available supply.
