The spinning top is among the oldest toys in existence, with evidence of its use going back 6,000 years. The Romans made them from boxwood or terracotta in ancient times. Beyond being a game, spinning tops were also used for divination and games of chance.

This coin contains 1 Troy oz of 99.99% pure silver and a unique shape enhanced by an antique finish.

The Design

This silver coin is an authentic reproduction of a spinning top. CIT’s Smartminting® created ultra-high relief edges on both sides of the coin, making it suitable for play as an ordinary toy.

The obverse design is on the upper side, higher than the previous edition, where scale patterns adorn the whole surface.

The reverse is the lower part of the spinning top, where, besides the scale patterns, the miniature portrait of King Charles III is accompanied by the following inscriptions: “CHARLES III,” “2024, “COOK ISLANDS,” “5 DOLLARS.”

The antique-proof finish gives the coin a nostalgic air and resembles an antique spinning top, making it even more attractive.
