Besides the series name on top, the design also informs the coin’s weight, metal content, purity, and year of issuance through: “2023 1 oz .9999 GOLD.” A characteristic “P” on the lower left corresponds to the Perth Mint mintmark.
The obverse design consists of Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, designed by Jody Clark, as a tribute to the former monarch. Her Majesty’s name, the country’s name, and face value, the 2023 edition engraved Her Reign dates on top: “1952-2022.”
