2022 1 oz Silver Libertad NGC MS-70 Coin
The Mexican Mint released the first Silver Libertad in 1982, along with its gold version, adding another bullion coin to the Libertad Series. At that time, other silver coins like the Silver Krugerrands were dominant. But the tradition of the oldest mint in the Americas overcame the expectations, becoming one of the most desirable coins among investors and collectors.
This silver coin debuted containing 1 oz of the purest .999 silver and a historical design celebrating the Mexican Independence.

The Design
The obverse features the Mexican Coat of Arms and its ten previous versions. In the central position, the current seal displays the Majestic Eagle, perched on a pear cactus as it defeats a rattlesnake. For some, it is a symbol of national superiority against foreign domination. The only inscriptions on this side are: “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.”
The reverse showcases a national symbol of its independence: the Winged Victory, which became a monument in Mexico City. The words engraved correspond to the coin’s weight, metal content, fineness, and year of mintage: “1 ONZA,” “PLATA PURA,” “2022,” and “LEY .999.”

NGC are the initials for Numismatic Guaranty Company, a worldwide recognized service for evaluating and grading coins and collectibles according to their condition and authenticity.
