The Design

The obverse showcases a ring of historic Mexican coats of arms surrounding the nation's current seal. Although Libertad coins do not carry a stamped monetary denomination, they remain legal tender in Mexico. Their value is determined by the Banco de México based on the coin's weight, purity, and the current market value of silver.

An NGC PF-70 Early Releases Coin

NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) independently certifies coins using the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.

According to NGC, the Early Releases designation is reserved for coins received by NGC within 30 days of their official release date.

The designation "PF" stands for Proof, indicating a coin specially struck for collectors. Because this is a reverse-proof coin, the fields display a frosted finish while the design elements exhibit brilliant, reflective surfaces. A grade of 70 represents a flawless coin with no visible imperfections.
