2021 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strikes 5 oz America The Beautiful Tuskegee Airmen Silver Coin
From 2010 to 2021, the US Mint delivered 56 silver coins to the America The Beautiful series. Each coin contains 5 Troy oz of 99.9% fine silver and designs highlighting some of the country's most iconic natural sites, making an alluring physical connection to the country's natural beauty and historical legacy.
The Tuskegee Airmen Silver Coin is the last strike in the America The Beautiful Quarters Program.
The Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site in Alabama honors the remarkable legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, a diverse group of men and women who made significant contributions during World War II. This elite group included nearly 1,000 pilots and over 15,000 support personnel, such as navigators, bombardiers, and mechanics. The site preserves five original buildings crucial for flight training, offering a glimpse into these individuals' pivotal role in breaking barriers and shaping the future of military aviation.
SD Bullion offers the 2021 5 oz America The Beautiful Tuskegee Airmen Silver Coins, purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release. They are sealed in PCGS slabs certified as MS-69 coins.

The Design
The obverse consists of George Washington's portrayal, designed by John Flanagan in 1932. It is based on the former President’s official depiction illustrated by William Cousins in 1786.
It also contains “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
On the reverse, a Tuskegee Airman pilot prepares for battle during World War II, with the Moton Field control tower visible in the background. The pilot gazes upward with pride and confidence as two P-51 Mustangs fly overhead. The phrase "THEY FOUGHT TWO WARS" is inscribed above, symbolizing the Tuskegee Airmen’s dual struggle—against fascism overseas and racial discrimination at home.
Further inscriptions read “TUSKEGEE AIRMEN,” “ALABAMA,” “2021,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin
PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
For PCGS, “First Strikes” refer to coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of their official release and taken to its appraisal.
MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
