2021 NGC MS-70 Advance Releases Morgan and Peace Dollar Silver 6-Coin Set - Morgan and Peace Labels

Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars are two of the most significant silver coins ever produced by the US Mint.

Crafted at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, these coins marked a crucial pre and post-World War moment in the US.

The US Mint celebrated the 100th anniversary of the final Morgan Dollar and the inaugural Peace Dollar strikes by releasing the first two-coin set of Silver Morgan and Peace Dollars in 2021.

The high acceptance of this coin set in the numismatic market prompted the US Mint to produce other options, like the 6-Coin Set of Morgan and Peace Dollars.

At SD Bullion, you can find Morgan and Peace Dollar 6-Coin Set, certified by NGC as MS-70 samples and sealed with Morgan and Peace Labels.

The Morgan Dollar Design

Morgan Dollars inherited their designer’s name, Chief Engraver George T. Morgan.

The obverse depicts Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton balls and a tiara inscribed “LIBERTY.”

The image is completed with the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies, and the coin’s year of issuance.

The Bald Eagle, from the reverse side, has outstretched wings, arrows, olive branches in its talons, and laurels surrounding it.

It includes the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

The Peace Dollar Design

The Peace Dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci in 1921.

It showcases Lady Liberty wearing a radiant crown and the engravings “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance.

The Eagle rests on a rock, holding an olive branch, representing peace, on the reverse design. On this side, the inscriptions read: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”

An NGC MS-70 Advance Releases coin

NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) works independently from sovereign mints and appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.

MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.

NGC considers “Advance Releases” a coin submitted to its appraisal purchased from its original mint before its official release.
