2012-(S) NGC MS-69 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin Struck at San Francisco
American Silver Eagles are the primary silver coins produced by the US Mint.
The Philadelphia Mint produces the US Silver Eagles bullion version. They typically carry no mint mark. However, when demand is high, the US Mint usually resorts to its other branches, such as the San Francisco Mint, to boost production.
Even though these coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint, they still carry no mint mark. That is only indicated on the NGC slabs, along with the MS-69 grade.

The Design
Adolph A. Weinman’s “The Walking Liberty” displayed on the obverse showcases Lady Liberty folded in the American flag as she walks toward the sun's rays.
Lady Liberty stretches one arm to welcome new inhabitants with the oak and laurel branches she carries. It also features the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of mintage.
The 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, John Mercanti, presents the Heraldic Eagle on the reverse side, with the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak. The stars above the Heraldic Eagle represent the Thirteen Original Colonies.
The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR” describe the face value, weight, metal content, and purity data.

NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
